Forget your name, job, political or church title, or even who people say you are. Who does God say you are?
Who exactly does God say you are?
For far too long, we have been leaning so much on who we are in the physical and forgotten who God says we are. So much of our problems are related to one thing, ignorance. If we knew who we were, believed it and claimed it, our lives would take a turn around. The fact that we are associated with God means that everything pertaining to us is His concern.
God’s Child – A child is a treasure to the parent. Whenever a child is worn out or stressed, they run to their parents because they are sure to find help and guidance. The best thing about this heavenly Daddy is that He can never turn His back on you. The question is, have you forgotten who your Daddy is, and have you forgotten that you are a child of the King?
Blessed and Highly favored – Mary, the mother of Jesus, was chosen because she was blessed and highly favored.
LUKE 1: 28 The angel came to her and said, “You are honored very much. You are a favored woman. The Lord is with you. You are chosen from among many women.”
When God says that you are blessed and highly favored, it means that He has bestowed His love on you, He cherishes you, and He cares for you.
God’s very Own Possession, A Royal Priesthood – Imagine being God’s very own possession.
1st Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”
This means that we belong to God. He has brought us from our meaningless lives and taken us into His marvelous and wonderful light. We are His and He is ours.
Justified and Redeemed – God says that we are justified and redeemed, and we are free from all our iniquities. This means that there is a seal between you and the Holy Ghost.
Romans 3:24 But they are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Jesus died on the cross to save us from all sin.
A Citizen of Heaven – Forget your nationality; you are a citizen of the most glorious city, a city with golden streets.
Philippians 3:20 “But our citizenship is in heaven and we also await a savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.”
You are of great value to God and that is your true identity in Christ Jesus. Forget all the titles that you have been given, and focus on who you really are, for you are more than what you think of yourself.
Your true identity is in Christ alone.
Great reminder, thanks @eve
