Fresh wind of the Spirit,
Blow afresh on me…
I feel so thirsty, so tired, so weary,
The journey you have sent me on, Lord,
Has taken its toll in ways that only You can understand.
So my prayer is…
Fresh wind of the Spirit,
Blow afresh on me.
The dust of the wilderness swirls around me,
As I search desperately for shelter and water,
But no, there is no relief from the sweltering heat…
In the midst of this desert land, I turn to you, saying,
Fresh wind of the Spirit,
Blow afresh on me.
Just like a gust of wind in the wilderness brings life,
I need your fresh wind to blow within me,
Blowing away all the cobwebs that are blinding my eyes,
Sweeping out unbelief from the darkest corners.
Lord, I cannot do this alone.
I need the fresh wind of the Spirit,
To blow afresh on me.
Holy Spirit, how I need your fresh wind to blow through me,
Pushing out the old habits, practices, and patterns,
And filling me with a fresh, new experience of You.
Fresh wind of the Spirit, how I cry out,
Blow afresh on me.
I need to grow. I need to change.
I see myself falling into familiar ways,
Ways that do not always reflect who lives inside of me,
Ways that leave me feeling dry and parched.
Fresh wind of the Spirit, won’t you come and make me new,
Blow afresh on me.
Ephesians 4:23 “Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.” (NLT)
